What is Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractic care is a non-invasive therapy designed to treat issues with the nervous system and musculoskeletal system. Chiropractic care also improves the overall health of the patient.

Chiropractic care can be beneficial to patients with a number of different conditions, including:

  • Hard or soft tissue injuries
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Back pain due to many different causes
  • Neck pain from injury or ergonomic issues
  • Chronic pain lasting longer than 6 months, continuous or episodic
  • Fibromyalgia: Due to trauma, surgery, infection or stress

What are the benefits of chiropractic care?

Chiropractic treatments focus on improving the alignment of the patient’s spine and the patient’s mobility, which can alleviate pain and prevent future injuries. Chiropractic care is also non-invasive and carries very little risk of side effects or complications. In addition, chiropractic care can be used in combination with most other types of treatment, including massage therapy, physical therapy, rehabilitation, and medication, to provide lasting results.

Who can benefit from chiropractic care?

Many different types of patients can benefit from chiropractic care. Chiropractic care is effective for patients who are recovering from an injury, as well as those who struggle with a chronic condition. Some people without noticeable physical issues also find they feel better after chiropractic treatment.

Is chiropractic care painful?

Chiropractic care can cause minimal, temporary discomfort. However, patients don’t usually experience significant pain with chiropractic care. In fact, most patients feel much better following chiropractic treatment sessions with one of our skilled physicians.

How often should patients have chiropractic care?

The recommended frequency of chiropractic treatment sessions differs considerably based on the patient’s condition and treatment goals. The physician will assess each patient carefully to determine how often the patient needs to participate in chiropractic treatment.

What are the risks of chiropractic care?

Chiropractic care is considered safe for most people. However, people with certain serious conditions may not be good candidates for chiropractic care. If a patient isn’t sure whether chiropractic care is appropriate, one of our skilled physicians can provide guidance in this area.
